One of my favourite pieces I painted this year, was sold at my infamous Leaside yART sales. A woman walked by...walked away...came back and bought this painting. She told me she had been going through some very tough times and that this painting was a celebration to mark the passing of this difficult phase on to more joyful times.
As you know, many of my works have hearts in them. This painting I sold to a woman who had seen it in Starbucks, called, wanted it...and then I didn't hear from her for a little while. I continued to send her the occasional e-mail and one day, that was it, she bought it. I learned patience and persistence from this client.
I love Romance! I especially love painting Romance! I painted the first one, sold it to a beautiful work associate, now a friend.
When I sold this painting, I decided I had to paint another one! When it was finished a close friend of mine was over and we both commented that it looked very much like her and her boyfriend- although I had at the time of painting it, never seen her boyfriend. Of course she bought it and guess who has it now? The boyfriend!! Now that is a Renaissance Man!
A young friend of my daughter's fell in love with this painting and her amazing mom bought it for her.
I am especially touched by this as I think it send a wonderful message to her daughter- the value and beauty of original art. I feel so passionate about sharing my art and also letting people know that you CAN afford real, beautiful, original art. Just check out the smaller Art expos and get cards from the artists. Most of us will be happy to work with customers on pricing.
This next painting was bought by a woman I met at a sore I love, which often carries my pieces when they are not in shows- the Store is called DEW on Bayview Ave.
The woman who purchased this and a couple other pieces fell in love with it and that is how one should purchase art. I know some will purchase only well-known artists as investment- I think you buy art as an investment for your soul.
There are several tree paintings I sold this year, I love painting trees. I can't remember who bought these...I just remember painting each one and falling in love with each one as I painted it...And yet it was easy to let go. If only I could learn to let go so easily in other matters of the heart...I'm getting better at it....
This next painting I adore and was purchased by a beautiful friend, also for her daughter.xxo
OK, one more I'd like to share. I love painting waves and I have sold every wave. This one was my favourite, it has small red hearts washing in on the wake. Also purchase b y a beautiful friend who owns several of my works.
So these are just a few of my favourites...I know what you're thinking...has she got any left????
Yes, yes, yes!!!
Here are a few I absolutely love that are still for sale! Make me an offer I can't refuse!!! lol
